Thoughts on “Soft Skills”

I’m going through the Virtual Conference on Soft Skills, and some thoughts occurred to me.

After reading Dan Meyer’s comparison between math and “an angry injured wolverine”, I thought it might be interesting on equations (either one or a system) to have students pick answers that do not work — and show why. And on a related note, make much more of an effort to emphasize that a “wrong answer” does give us information.

This is one of the coolest posts I’ve read in a while! I really like the idea of both going over the assessment and having the students act as presenters. Really good!
