## Geometry 6-4 Special Parallelograms

January 30, 2010

Notes: Half-size 4-Tab Foldable (cut in half again)

This was a fun one (at least for me) to set up. I used two half-sheets to form the booklet, used the upper part of the first page as the title sheet, and cut all but the last page down the middle to form the rhombus and rectangle sections that joined together as the square section on the last page. In order to make all of the text fit, I turned the booklet sideways.

Rectangles Rhombi
4 right angles If a parallelogram has four right angles, then it is a rectangle. 4 $\cong$ sides If a parallelogram has four congruent sides, then it is a rhombus.
All angles $\cong$ If a parallelogram is a rectangle, then all the angles are congruent. Diagonals $\perp$ If a parallelogram is a rhombus, then the diagonals are perpendicular.
Diagonals $\cong$ If a parallelogram is a rectangle, then the diagonals are congruent. Diagonals bisect angles If a parallelogram is a rhombus, then the diagonals bisect the opposite angles.
Squares
If a quadrilateral has four right angles and four congruent sides, then it is a square. It has all of the properties of a rectangle and a rhombus.
